Welcome to Harrison Upward!!!
This site was designed as a means to keep participants informed of all that is going on with the Upward  program in the Harrison, AR area.

The Upward program is a Christ-centered program designed to teach children the fundamentals of a given sport as well as the fundamentals of the Christian faith.  As part of God's vision to a a recreation minister named Caz McCaslin, Upward basketball alone has grown nationally to include over 1,000 different community programs (as of 2004).  For more information about the history and purpose of Upward, please check out the link below:

The Harrison Upward program began in 2002 with the advent of Upward basketball and included over 200 children and was housed solely at Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Harrison, AR.  Partnering with First Baptist Church of Harrison and later Faith Assembly and First Presbyterian, Harrison Upward has seen its leagues grow to a include over 650 children in the basketball and cheerleading leagues.  On any given Saturday, one of the game sites will see anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 people pass through its doors.  In addition to the host churches, Harrison Upward coaches, referees, and other volunteers represent more than 50 area churches.  What an awesome display of Christian cooperation!

Most importantly, Harrison Upward has seen hundreds of children make life-changing decisions for Christ.  With solid, Christian volunteers, weekly devotions during practices, and testimonies during every game's halftime, God has truly blessed the ministry of His people in the Harrison area.
